An undifferentiated giant was sitting on the most loyal customer base in travel. We gave it a reason to take off.
Delta Vacations had a powerful advantage most travel brands would kill for: access to one of the most loyal customer bases in the world — Delta SkyMiles Members.
But despite the strength of the Delta brand and the value built into the vacation program, many travelers still weren’t booking through Delta Vacations. Even loyal Delta flyers either didn’t fully understand the offering or saw earning Medallion Status as overly complicated and difficult to achieve.
Delta Vacations had become an Undifferentiated Giant.
The challenge wasn’t awareness of Delta. It was making Delta Vacations feel culturally relevant, emotionally compelling, and easy enough to act on immediately.

There was a powerful tension at play: travelers obsessed over Medallion Status, but the process of earning it felt confusing, intimidating, and transactional.
At the same time, “girl math” and other internet “math” trends were exploding across social media — using playful logic to justify indulgences, purchases, and experiences people already wanted. That gave us an opportunity to completely reframe the conversation.
The insight was simple: If vacations help you earn Medallion Status, then booking another vacation basically becomes self-care math.
We created “Vacation Math” — a socially driven campaign inspired by the viral internet behavior around “girl math,” “boy math,” and other playful justification trends dominating feeds.
The campaign transformed Medallion earning into something consumers could instantly understand, emotionally connect with, and share:
To participate authentically in the trend, we created our own influencer-style “Vacation Mathlete” who delivered socially native content that felt less like advertising and more like internet behavior pulled directly from the feed.
Most importantly, we transformed a complicated loyalty proposition into something consumers actually wanted to engage with.
“Vacation Math” helped Delta Vacations turn cultural relevance into measurable business growth.
The campaign proved that Delta Vacations didn’t need to outspend competitors to stand out. It just needed to start moving differently.
